CBD for Pain

According to a scientific study published in Elsevier’s Journal of Pain, the disease of pain affects more Americans than cancer, diabetes, and heart disease combined.

Finding a safe and effective method of reducing pain is extremely important for people with chronic or acute illnesses. Commonly used to reduce pain include acetaminophen, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
(NSAIDs), and opioids. However, many of these drugs have side effects or are addictive with long-term use.

CBD-oil is currently emerging as an alternative pain reliever. CBD is believed to help relieve pain by reducing inflammation in the body.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of more than 80 active ingredients known as cannabinoids that occur naturally in the cannabis Sativa plant. CBD can be extracted into a thick oily paste and mixed with a carrier oil (e.g. hemp oil or coconut oil) to obtain a CBD oil of a specific concentration of CBD.

Potential Benefits of CBD Oil

Researchers are still trying to figure out how CBD oil for pain can alleviate the disease. However, there is some evidence that cannabidiol may affect the body’s endocannabinoid system (a complex cell-to-cell communication system). In addition to brain functions such as memory and mood, the endocannabinoid system also helps influence our perception of pain.

The oral bioavailability of CBD is poor. The current application of CBD to localized areas of disease appears to provide more even levels of CBD with less systemic involvement.

Animal Studies

To date, most of the evidence on the effects of CBD oil on disease treatment comes from animal studies. That study included a 2017 study published in the journal Pain, in which researchers found that treatment with topical CBD for pets helped prevent joint pain in mascots with osteoarthritis.

Another study published in the European Journal of Pain in 2016 found that topical CBD gel significantly
reduced arthritis and measured pain and inflammation in some animals.

Epidermolysis Bullosa

In a 2018 report published in Pediatric Dermatology, researchers reported three cases of topical CBD (in the form of oil, cream, and spray) in children with a rare inflammatory skin condition known as epidermolysis
bullosa.

Parents reported that all three people reveled faster healing, People can be completely devoid of oral painkillers. No side effects have been reported

Chronic Neuropathic Pain

According with studies from nccih.nih.gov and many cases documented around the world suggests CBD could have benefits for relieving chronic pain. The Neuropathic pain is a common disease such as multiple
sclerosis, back injuries and in some cases like shingles.
